The mother Church of the town Città Sant'Angelo in the region of Abruzzo, dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel,

rises on the site of a previous house of worship dating back to the 11th century and

was rebuilt in the typical style of the late Middle Ages.

It obtained the title of Collegiate in 1353.

The Church boasts an exquisite 15th century portico running along the façade,

where a superb Gothic portal dated 1326 opens in the middle.

The portal is rich in decorations and symbolic figures
