A huge standard - m 4,42 x 3,15 / ft 14,50 x 10.33 - made of red silk, painted in 1579 by Giovan Paolo Cardone.
Hanging on a horizontal top wooden bar is now exposed in a specially-designed and
temperature-controlled showcase in the Museo Nazionale d'Abruzzo.
Its historical importance lays on the depiction of the city of L'Aquila
- supported by the four Patron Saints -
as it was in the 16th
century.
