This Crucifixion, located in the apse of the Church of Sant'Agata in Perugia, has been attributed to an anonymous Umbrian painter
known as the Master of Paciano of whom a panel painting can be found in the nearby Galleria Nazionale dell' Umbria.
This artist lived and worked between the first and second decades of the 14th century, blending the
innovation of Giotto with the techniques of Simone Martini and Pietro Lorenzetti.
This artistic style emerged in the Assisi work-site
between the end of the 13th century
and the first decade of
the next century
